Halong Travel Guide
Paradise Suites Hotel is the very first luxury boutique hotel on the shores of Halong Bay.
It aims at extending the enchantment and humble majesty of the mythical seascape
inland. Even if Paradise Suites Hotel’s guests are staying on land,
Tuan Chau Island
Known as the tourist hub of Ha Long Bay, Tuan Chau Island is located just 8km southwest of Ha Long city. Even though it is small - just over 2 km2 - it offers visitors a broad range of accommodation, services and entertainment and caters to all budgets and tastes.
Travelers to Tuan Chau can opt to stay in high-end and luxury hotels, as well as family resorts and private villas. Entertainment on the island includes live shows and theatre, and outdoor activities like kayaking, fishing, swimming, climbing and hiking are easily accessible.
As well as offering touristic services, the island is also of interest to history buffs. Traces of the Ha Long culture, which existed between 3,000 and 5,000 years ago, were been discovered there. In feudal times, Tuan Chau was an outpost of the royal army because of its strategic position. The name “Tuan Chau” comes from combining the words for patrolman (linh tuan) and tru chau (district chief).
President Ho Chi Minh was so taken with Tuan Chau Island that he spent his holidays there, and the house where he stayed has been turned in to a memorial site, which can be visited by interested tourists.
Boasting pristine beaches, long stretches of coastline, and stunning views of Ha Long Bay, Tuan Chau Island is the home of Paradise Cruise. Guests embark and disembark from their cruise ship in the Paradise Marina, and those who aren’t in a rush can opt to stay at the gorgeous Paradise Suites Hotel, or the delightful La Paz Resort.
